U.N. - United
Nations, association of states for international peace, security
and co-operation, with its headquartes in New York. It was
established in 1945 as a successor to the League of Nations, and
has played a role in many areas such as refugees, development
assistance, disaster relief, cultural co-opoeration and
peacekeeping.
