HOLOCAUST - The annihalation of more than 16 million people by the Nazi regime under Adolf Hitler between 1933 and 1945 in the numerous extermination camps.
Of the victims over 6 million were Jews, 10 million were Ukranian Polish, Russian civilians and prisoners of war, gypsies homosexuals and others, labelled as "defectives"
Victims were variosly starved, tortured, experimented on or worked to death. Many thousands were executed in gas chambers, shot or hanged.
