FEUDAL SERF -
Fuedalism was a form of social organisation in medieval Europe
with serfs being the lowest social strata. In fuedalism the serfs
were allowed land to cultivate for themselves in return for
working on their masters lands. They could not be sold like slaves
but were not allowed to move or work elsewhere without their
masters permision.
Serfdom ended in England in the 16th century but it continued
elsewhere until it finally ended in Russia in 1861.
